anxiety is something that lives in our urban modern daily life, it’s inevitable. If we’re not working in a project already thinking about how we’re going to solve the following problem even before it starts, it seems we’re not being productive enough.
Through art, and through music, we are able to face the things that concern us. We find comfort and peace in their presence. Through the capacity of beauty we redeem our suffering. We amplify our joy and find consolation for our sorrows. We find harmony. A point between the real and the ideal.
I dive into myself every day. I get to know myself, in order to remind myself that I am unique. In order to build up the courage to just be myself. To take action, regardless of my contexts reactions. To be an artist is like walking naked.
I feel that more and more of us have been disconnecting from these more sensitive senses by connecting - or absorbing - too much of our surrounding. And especially by letting the noises of the surrounding affect our inner voice. We listen and get very involved with other people’s thoughts and opinions. The networks. Virtual or not. We are erasing our internal voices. And who is paying the highest price is our own intuition.
Our environment encourages conformity and control - two concepts I perceive as prisons. We become afraid of letting ourselves loose. The fear that kills our freedom of expression and creativity, once we start telling ourselves “I can’t” “I don’t dare” “what will people think of me?” I am breaking free of this.
What exactly is not relevant. What is important is truly to be present. Here, and now! At this point only. The projection of the future does not matter, the past even less. The present. A present indeed.
Sometimes we need to lose ourselves a bit to then find ourselves again. And I'm happy to be back. Truly and entirely.
It talks, all the time.If you close your eyes this instant, you feel the pulse of your heart, the intensity of your breathing, the relaxation or tension of each limb. On the mental and corporal plane. Tiredness or energy. Anxiety or serenity. Past, present and future.
